Hyundai Races Through Times Square

Recently, Hyundai took the advertising of their all-new three-door coupe, the 2012 Veloster to a whole new level in Times Square. The South Korean automaker transformed their video billboard from a looping feed into a gamers' dream screen by featuring a new racing game on it that anyone with a Smartphone could play.
The game is controlled by downloading the "Hyundai Race" App. The on-screen Veloster is easily controlled by tilting the phone like the vehicle's steering wheel, and all of the game's action plays out on the billboard for passersby to watch. From there, each player's score is shown on the screen, which allows for some serious bragging rights. But most importantly, the 2012 Hyundai Veloster is front and center for the whole thing.
"Having a large video display in Times Square certainly creates awareness among consumers through creative graphic elements. But Hyundai's racing game takes engagement to a new level," said Steve Shannon, Vice President of Marketing, Hyundai Motor America. "The game invites the audience to interact with Hyundai in the middle of one of the world's busiest venues for commerce and tourism. It's a great example of our innovative marketing at work."1
The "Hyundai Race" game is a part of the company's "New Thinking. New Possibilities" initiative, and it's certainly unlike anything that anyone at Hudson Hyundai has seen before. But, while taking the Veloster for a virtual spin is enticing to say the least, it can't compare to taking it for a real test drive at our dealership. Conveniently located at 977 Communipaw Ave, Jersey City, NJ, 07304, we're happy to share specs, compare models, and answer any questions that you may have.
